It’s hard to believe, but Chess in Slums, Africa is turning six years old!
What started as a simple dream to make a difference has grown into a movement that has touched the lives of over 1,000 children across Nigeria and beyond. Over the past six years, we’ve seen countless young minds discover their potential, find hope in unlikely places, and begin to rewrite their own stories all through the game of chess.
This milestone wouldn’t be possible without the incredible support from people like you- our community of believers, supporters, and champions. Together, we’ve accomplished so much:
Empowered over 1,000 children to think critically, solve problems, and pursue their dreams.
Expanded our reach from the slums of Lagos to communities across Nigeria, spreading the transformative power of chess.
Built a community of volunteers and supporters who work tirelessly to make sure every child we encounter gets the chance to succeed.
To celebrate this incredible milestone, we’ll share a video that captures some beautiful moments we have had in the past six years. Please watch and share one of the amazing memories you have had with us over the past six years. We will be waiting to hear from you!
As we celebrate, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to you. Your belief in our mission, your support, and your passion for the work we do have been the driving force behind our success. Thank you for being part of this journey!
Here’s to six years of making moves that matter and many more amazing years to come! 🎉
The journey of a thousand miles begins with a little step indeed. Looking forward to celebrating 10 years with CISA! 🥹
